Takashima Maiko likes Sakaide-kun, a basketball player in her class. One day, a strange old man makes her buy a little doll of a boy, and when she gets home, she discovers it's alive! The doll says he's the devil Ruka, and his job is to make her unhappy! If he does a good job, he can become a first-class devil and become big. When he first 'meets' Sakaide, he takes a dislike to him, and decides to harass him. However, when he's small, he can't do much, so he gets some spells from his 'dad'(the old man) and becomes big, joining Maiko's class and hanging around her a lot. He also takes every chance to get in Sakaide's way and even goes so far as to join the basketball team even though Maiko tells him to leave Sakaide alone. Maiko just tries to hold him off, but Sakaide gets the wrong idea...
Mitsuki's twin brother Chitose loves to invent weird things, following after their scientist dad. Their parents died a month ago in an accident, but they're really close. Mitsuki has telekinetic powers, though she can't control them well, and a scientist rival of their dad's is always trying to catch them and study them.
Otohiko is depressed because the daughter of his father's friend is coming to visit, and he has a bad feeling about it. When he meets her, she's kind of odd(she dresses in some kind of Japanese costume and demands that he address her as Kotohime-sama, but she's cute and he starts to like her. Then he finds out that she's looking for her childhood love, who happens to be a playboy that Otohiko knows. Otohiko tries to divert her, but Kotohime finds the guy as he's flirting with another girl. Otohiko finds her crying and tells her to forget the other guy because he's not worth her time, but Kotohime tells him not to say bad things about him, and says she hates him...
