Released January 19 1998
Taki is an impulsive 8th grader who wants a cool boyfriend. She's been turned down 7 times, and vows to be successful the next time. She finds a white feather in the school courtyard, and is overjoyed. A school legend says that whoever finds an 'angel feather' in the courtyard can get a wish granted by the angel that night at midnight in the school's clock tower. She says she'll wish for a boyfriend. To her dismay, a classmate, Akira, also found a feather, and Taki tells him he doesn't need to wish for anything because he has it all-good grades, he's the basketball team's star, and will probably be the next school council president. Akira smugly says his wish is much more worthy than hers, which annoys Taki, because she thinks he's conceited. That night, they run into each other entering the school, and end up going to the clock tower together. Whose wish will be granted?
Six months ago, Yuiko saved a dog from a passing car. She scolded the dog's owner Yoshiyuki, an older boy, but fell in love with him when he smiled at her. He works at a pet shop, and every day after school she stares at him through the window. Lately though, she's concerned because he seems depressed, when one day he suddenly pulls her into the store, saying she's welcome to browse. She gets to know him and the dog she saved, Kurimaru, but wonders if he remembers her. She finds out that Yoshiyuki just broke up with his girlfriend and tries to help, but he gets mad at her and tells her not to interfere. Yuiko doesn't know what to do, all she wants is for Yoshiyuki to be happy...

Kamura-sensei's debut work, and one of my favourites. Koharu is known for always smiling, even if someone is mean to her. A boy in her class, Hagiwara, loves to tease her, but ignores everyone else. One day, a sempai starts teasing her and Hagiwara calls him an idiot. The sempai get mad, but Koharu makes a joke about herself to stop them from fighting. The sempai leaves and Hagiwara gets mad at Koharu, telling her how annoying it is when she always smiles, and that he hates it. Surprised, Koharu starts to cry, but acts as if she's not hurt, and Hagiwara stops teasing her from then on. But Koharu finds that she actually misses his teasing...
