Part 16  Final Chapter  Bangaihen 1  Bangaihen 2  Bangaihen 3  Bangaihen 4
Part 16 (April 2001:  Iyo is talking in the bus about how where everyone used to live takes about an hour by bus from Matsue, and he only remembers it being by the sea.  It was called Mihonosakichou.  Akina is recalling how Inogami advised him not to tell Arisa about what happened last night, and Akina thinks it would be a shock to find out that the guy she likes used to dress as a girl.  Iyo pops up and asks Akina to bring him to 'Yuki-chan's' house, and Akina pretends he doesn't know the person.  Iyo doesn't blieve him, and Inogami reflects that it's better that Iyo never see the photo...Iyo says maybe Akina also likes Yuki and doesn't want him to meet her, and Akina violently denies it.  Iyo asks him what his type really is then, since he doesn't seem interested in the beautiful Erika either, and Akina, looking for escape, points to a girl in the next seat(who happens to look exactly like Jimiko from SSK^_^)  Iyo comments that Akina has a taste for the intellectual look, and Akina tells him to leave him alone.  Arisa, watching, thinks that Erika must be mad that she left with Akina.
Finally the arrive and get off the bus, and Arisa thinks that she feels a bit of memory about it.  They get to Akina's house, and his mom appears, complaining that he never calls.  She invites them in, saying how unusual it is for him to bring friends home.  They sit by the garden, and Arisa spots a dog's grave, marked Chachamaru.  She asks Akina, and he says she was getting old, and it was soon after Totomaru was born.  Iyo remembers Chachamaru as the stray that hung around school, and Akina's mom said that Akina cried so much and begged so they took in the puppy.  Arisa remembers that the dog had a spot in the same place as Akina, under the right eye, and Akina always protected the dog because kids teased it a lot.  She tries to remember more, but Akina, thinking that it was Arisa that did a lot of the teasing(though this is wrong), tells her to think any more, in any case Arisa wasn't responsible.  Akina's mom pulls him aside to tease him about the 'girlfriend' he transferred school for, and asks if Arisa is that girl.  Akina, red-faced, asks her not to misunderstand in weird ways.  Arisa turns around to find a frog on her face, placed by Inogami, who apologizes.
Soon after, Akina demands to know where Inogami and Arisa went, and Iyo, having more tea with Akina's mom, tells him to let them have some time alone, reminding him that they already exchange diaries(Akina's mom is disappointed that Arisa isn't Akina's girlfriend).  Iyo continues that only yesterday, Arisa tried really hard to get her love fortune, and Akina wonders why Arisa still cares, when Inogami told her she was only second-best.  Iyo asks who lives in the big traditional Japanese-style home on the hill, and Akina rudely tells him how should he know.  His mom tells Iyo that it's the landlord of the whole area, and also a well-known tea ceremony family in the whole district, the Inogami house.
In the house, Inogami brings Arisa to a room, saying he wanted to talk to her alone.  He explains that in the Inogami family, it's a tradition to bring the boys up as girls until puberty to protect them from evil and to instil in them the feminine grace for the tea ceremony.  Arisa says she doesn't care about all that, and Inogami says he wanted her to at least know that he wasn't dressing as a girl because he wanted to(he's kind of embarrassed). Arisa tells him that's not what he wanted to talk about, and prods him, guessing that he's the one who sent the letter to all the Underlings in the first place.  She asks why, and remembers a time when Inogami, following her as a child, tried to save her from falling and got a bad cut on his ear, which scar he still has.  Inogami says it's not that complicated, and kisses her!  He says he just wanted to meet the girl he liked best, Arisa-chan, once again.  He goes on to say that when he met her again as a boy, she had no memory and was a different person, and he thought that meeting her Underlings might jog her memory. Arisa is surprised that he went to the trouble of searching out her current school and sending the letters to the Underlings for that, and adds that rich people do some weird?? things.  She bluntly tells him that she won't fall for him, and Inogami smiles sheepishly and says he knows already. Arisa  remembers how Inogami brushed off his injury, and mentions that she never had an order to her Underlings, she just numbered them whatever she felt like.  She says she'll make Inogami her #1 Underling, and he has a lot more guts than it first seems.  She says he's a great Underling, and they're both satisfied.
Walking back, Arisa meets Akina, and tell him that Inogami went back on his own.  Akina asks why, and Arisa says she guesses he wanted to be alone.  On the bus, Inogami looks at a pic he has of Arisa holding on to Akina while he stands nearby, and frowns, with the sound of being pissed off.  Meanwhile, Akina asks what he talked about with Arisa , and she says it's a secret.  She realizes she forgot to ask about how she became a double personality.  She also still wonders how she never recognized Inogami, but Akina doesn't want to talk about it.  She asks if he's mad, and he says no, and Arisa tells him if he wants to say something he should say it.  She gets pissed, and tells Akina that Inogami kissed her.  She says he's really serious, and for a moment she couldn't move, when Totomaru flies out and lands on her, changing her back to Arisa.  Iyo comes up, and Arisa asks Akina where Inogami went.  Akina curtly says he doesn't know, and declares that whatever she and Inogami do is none of his business, and anyways, he's always hated her!  Arisa freezes, and then, standing on the edge of a staircase, to tip over.  As she closes her eyes and falls down, she thinks that something like this happened before, when was it?...
In the doctor's office, Iyo explains what happened, but adds that Akina cushioned Arisa's fall, so she didn't get many injuries.  The doctor asks then why is Arisa still unconscious, and Iyo replies that he doesn't know.  Akina wonders too, thinking that she didn't hit her head, when he's interrupted by the Revenger 7, who are back to finish their fight with Arisa.  Akina says it's not the time for this, and adds that he thought their role ended in the last chapter.  The leader tells him not to be so cold, especally since they're revenge comrades.  He says that it's still not too late, if Akina wants to join them, they'll all beat Arisa and make her get dowon on her hands and knees in front of them.  Akina snaps, and hitting the guy, says that Arisa would never lose to the likes of them.  The nurse comes out and says Arisa has woken up, and Iyo rushes in, asking Arisa if she's ok.  She's sitting up in bed in a formal sitting position, with big glasses and braids.  Iyo asks what's wrong, and she asks him not to call her name in hiragana, because she's Kanji Arisa!  She says she has to hurry because there's only 2 minutes and 36 seconds until they gather for dinner, and Iyo says what happened, and tells her that Akina was worried too.  Akina wonders if possibly a third personality was created by her fall down the stairs, and K. Arisa looks at Akina and asks who he is!!
Part 16 (May 2001:  Final chapter!  Kanji Arisa is being a model student in school, and always talks in polite form.  Momo says she's been like this since the trip, and Akina remembers her saying she doesn't know him.  He had grabbed her arm and demanded why not, since she still remembered her brother and everyone else.  Iyo stopped him, telling him to calm down, Kanji Arisa seeming really scared by Akina's shouting at her.  Iyo had asked him then to just wait a while and see what happened...In the classroom, Akina catches K. Arisa's eye, and she quickly turns away to go.  Akian thinks that far from helping her remember, now he and Arisa are back to where they started when he first transferred to the school for revenge against her.  Inogami walks up to K. Arisa and Iyo, and Iyo notices that he's cut his hair( I think he looks way better this way-very cute!).  Inogami says he felt like a change.  Iyo sees his scar and comments on how coincidental it is, Yuki-chan had one in the same place...^_^;;  Inogami asks Iyo what happened on the trip while he was gone.  After haring about it, he comments that this time, Arisa has only forgotten Akina.  K. Arisa says that Akina scares her, she feels like she's going to remember something really painful memory.  Suddenly Inogami shouts an apoogy to K. Arisa and empties an aquarium of frogs onto her head.  She passes out, and Iyo and Inogami are surprised to see that she doesn't turn into Arisa.  From the shadows, wef says that since Arisa seems to have disappeared, now is the ideal time for their revenge.  Momo says he really is a coward.
     K. Arisa is walking outside, wondering why she woke up in the nurse's office, and sees Totomaru.  Following a butterfly, Totomaru heads towards the pond, and K. Arisa calls out his name while she dives to catch him.  Holding him, she's relieved, then raelizes that she hasn't fallen in the water(though she lost her glasses), and looks up to see Akina supporting her(they're noth on the ground).  In a flash, she jumps away from him, and exasperated, he says he's not going to do anything to her, he just wanted to return her love charm that she bought at the love shrine.  Akina tells her that he had things to say to her and things he wanted to apologize for, but he guesses that since she doesn't remember any of it there's no use now.  Then he leaves, and K. Arisa is left to recall when she bought the charm, wishing that this time, her love come true...then she wonders, who was she wishing about?  Somebody comes up to her and asks her to come along with him...
Elsewhere, Inogami finds Akina and gives him his old school uniform, left at Arisa's house since Part 4.  Inogami says Iyo asked him to return it, and it was convenient since Inogami had business with Akina.  Then Inogami punches Akina in the jaw!  Akina seems more angry than hurt, and after nursing his sore fist, Inogami tells him that that's not nearly enough, it's nothing compared to what Akina's done to both Arisa and Arisa.  Inogami says that the day Akina transferred(when they were kids), he saw him and Arisa , and he saw Akina get mad and tell Arisa that he hated her(when Chachamaru was graffiti'd).  Soon after, Arisa fell down the stairs and lost her memory.  Inogami continues that Iyo thinks that Arisa's double personality is because of the fall, but he knows better- it's because of Akina!  Arisa was hurt by Akina's words, so she shut her personality deep inside herself, and probably Totomaru reminds her of that time, and that's why she turns back to Arisa when she touches him.  In reaction, Arisa's personality became the opposite- shy, meek Arisa.  Then Akina did the same thing to Arisa, so, Inogami finishes, it's Akina's own fault that Kanji Arisa has forgotten him!  Akina has a hard time believing this, and asks why Arisa's personality would change just because of something he tells her.  Inogami, pissed off, gives him a boot, and tells him to figure it out himself.  :)
Back to Kanji Arisa-she doesn't understand why sada wants her to play dodge ball against him and his team(it seems he couldn't find another sport with 7 players).    He tells her to make it fair, he found players for her team too, though Arisa questions how fair it really is.  Her other teammates agree, seeing that the teacher(or principal, I'm not sure which) and Totomaru are included as players.  Iyo and Matsuda call asda a coward, and he gets mad, and even his own teammates tell him it's cowardly.  asda throws the ball at Arisa, telling her that's the retribution for insulting a supporter of justice.  Right before it hits her, Akina steps in front of her and catches it in one hand.  He's in his old school outfit, and blushing a bit(he feels like he's doing cosplay) he apologizes for hurting her feelings without noticing up till now.  He tells her that no matter who she is, Arisa or Arisa, as long as she's her inside, he doesn't care how many times he's forgotten, he wants a new start with her.  Her braids beginning to unravel, Arisa, seeing in her mind the first day she met him as Arisa, calls him a liar, then, as Arisa,  reminds him he told her he hated her, then she starts crying, and repeats the same thing as Arisa.  Akina doesn't know which one she is, then realizes it doesn't matter, and kisses her!  He tells her it's not a lie.
The mood is ruined by a ball bonking Akina on the head, and Inogami, with glowing eyes, apologizes for interrupting their heartwarming love scene, but don't they have other things to worry about right now?  das backs him up, telling them not to ignore him, and hurls the ball at Arisa, calling it a Fire Revenge Hurricane Ball!  Akina shouts at her to dodge, but it makes contact-with Arisa's hand.  asds is dismayed that Arisa is back, but then Totomaru jumps onto her head- and nothing happens.  Arisa turns around and says she's Arisa  and Arisa, the perfect, flawless, invincible ARISA(in romaji).  She comments that it looks like her Underlings underestimated her, and it's time to finish it.  She then joyfully starts to play, thinking that she finally realized that whether she was Arisa or Arisa, feeling strong, feeling weak, getting mad, laughing, or crying, it was all her- all of them were herself.
Watching from a window, Inogami tells Iyo that he heard that humans make themselves forget really traumatizing events.  Inogami remembers when the were kids, and he was jealous of Arisa liking Akina, so he told her that Akina always talks about how he hates her(which was a lie).  Back in the present, Inogami says aloud that it's kind of his own fault that Arisa didn't remember him for so long.  Iyo, not understanding, tells him not to get depressed, and that a first love that is unrequited is more beautiful.  Inogami replies that when Iyo says that, it's convincing.  Iyo continues, saying he was looking at old albums, and noticed that Inogami'd old hairstyle made him kind of resemble Akina as a child.  Inogami asks him not to tell Akina and Arisa that for the sake of his pride.
Arisa asks Akina if he's going to return to Shimane now that his motive for being here, revenge, is gone.  Akina says no, since it's almost the final year anyways and his parents said he could go to high school nearby.  Arisa is happy, and hopes that they can go to the same high school(she changes the way she addresses Akina here, and he thinks that she's getting a bit confused again).  Arisa declares that even if she loses her memory again, she's sure that she'll start liking Akina once more.  Akina, embarrassed, asks what she's talking about, and reminds her that she totally forgot about him recently.  Arisa repeats that it doesn't matter if she forgets, because Akina has his 'mark'(his beauty mark near his eye), and kisses it, making him even more embarrassed.  She thinks that within herself , there's many 'me's' with different expressions, but without question, the 'me' who's beside the boy she loves is the best, strongest one.
@@@THE END@@@

Bangaihen 1(Ribon Fuyuyasumi Otanoshimi 2000):  This is the explanation of how Arisa first became a pushover.  As a child, Arisa's parents were moving all the time, so she changed schools around Japan all the time.  But as she stated, "Don't underestimate me because I'm an outsider!" and on the first day, she would always beat the current 'leader' of the class and make everybody her underlings.  In Shimane, as always, this happened, and her underlings included #764, Akina.  At the time he was her favourite because he was so meek, though he was a little weird, always playing with the dog, Chachamaru, who lived at school.  One day she calls him and tells him she found something interesting to give him.  When he holds out his hand, he's horrified to have a caterpillar dropped into it.  He screams and runs away crying, and Arisa and her underlings laugh hysterically.  In another area of the playground, Arisa'a brother Iyo's friends note that Arisa is teasing Akina again, though one comments that Akina makes it worse by crying easily.  Several other teasing episodes are shown, and one day Iyo asks Arisa why she always teases Akina.  She responds that it's fun because he cries all the time, and when Iyo tells her that's why she can't make friends, she gives him a kick and tells him to be quiet.  She thinks it doesn't matter, because she has lots of underlings to play with.  The next day, she's starting pretend Dragon Ken(I think this is pretending to be Dragon Ken and fighting)and when she asks Akina if he wants to play, he runs off.  She wonders if he dislikes her now, but tells herself she doesn't care.  Walking home, she sees some boys standing around Akina, and find that they've been teasing the school dog and threw it into the river.  She beats them up, telling them not to mess with her underlings, and Akina cries, worrying about Chachamaru with all the jellyfish.  Arisa yells at him not to cry so easily, and surprises him by jumping into the river.  She holds onto Chachamaru and copying Dragon Ken, takes out all the jellyfish.  Akina spots a rope hanging and suggests that she use it to climb out, but she gets out by herself.  He asks Arisa if she's alright, and she responds that she's not so weak as to be hurt by jellyfish.  He thanks her, saying that Chachamaru is his best friend, and smiles.  Arisa reflects that though it's fun to tease Akina because he cries easily, his smiling face is a lot better.  She smiles back.
At dinner that night, Arisa is told that they're moving again, this time to Kyushuu.  On the way to school the next day, she thinks that she's used to moving but...she runs off ahead of Iyo.  He continues and sees Chachamaru.  Iyo thinks that if the dog had a scarier face, kids wouldn't teas him so much, and decides to give him a scary face with a magic marker.  When Akina finds Chachamaru later, he's dismayed to find the dog done up to look like Dragon Ken, with Dragon Dog written on him.  Arisa comes up, seeing Iyo's marker on the ground and picking it up.  She tells Akina she went to his house but missed him, when she sees Chachamaru.  She bursts out laughing, saying how funny it is, but remembers what she wanted to say.  She tells Akina she's moving to Kyushuu, but Akina notices the marker in her hand and cuts her off.  Thinking she marked up Chachamaru, he tells her to get lost and says he hates her, walking off.  Arisa stands in shock, and Iyo finds her.  He thanks her for finding the marker and asks her what's wrong, giving her a slap on the back.  She loses her balance and tumbles down a flight of stairs...
From then on, crybaby meek Arisa is born, though deep inside the strong Arisa is watching, thinking that she'll show everyone her true strength!
SD Arisa's face

Bangaihen 2(Ribon Natsuyasumi Otanoshimi 2000):  This story is only 15 pages long, but it's fun.  Not much to tell, but here goes:
One day Iyo(who as everyone knows, adores Totomaru)asks Akina if he can borrow him for a night, because he wants to sleep a night next to Totomaru's soft fur, etc. etc.  Akina refuses, thinking that Iyo would probably do something weird to Totomaru again like draw on bushy eyebrows.  Iyo misunderstands and figures that it's because Akina would be lonely, so he offers to trade Totomaru for Arisa for a night.  Akina chokes on his rice and Arisa is embarrassed, but Akina lends Toto to Iyo(without the trade^_^) When Iyo wakes up the next morning, he is astonished to find that he and Totomaru have switched bodies!  Arisa comes in to wake him up, and Totomaru(in Iyo's body) runs out the door.  Iyo is dismayed at first but reflects that he always wanted to see what it was like to be so cute and fluffy, etc etc.  Then he gets worried for Totomaru in his body and, putting on some shorts to be decent, goes outside.  He finds Totomaru playing Frisbee with a kid, and of course catching it in his mouth, even though he's human-shaped.  Happily Iyo throws the Frisbee for Totomaru to catch, while the park visitors watch in astonshment.  Iyo(in dog-form) also buys Totomaru(boy-form) some ice cream, but suddenly he hears a voice threatening Arisa.  yes, it's another Underling, #310 from Kouchi-ken, Satou Eisaku, a yankee.  Reacting quickly, Iyo draws eyebrows on himself(Toto) and clobbers the guy.  Akina shows up and sees Totomaru('s body) all dressed and markered up, and gets annoyed again.  He is pulling the shorts of Toto(while Iyo in the dog body is protesting and calling Akina dirty-minded) when Toto in Iyo's body jumps on Akina affectionately and sends them all tumbling down a flight of stairs.  They all open their eyes to see Arisa bending over them, asking if they're ok, and Iyo is back in his own body, not remembering what happened.  He gets up and, holding Totomaru, sets off for home with Arisa, inviting Akina over for dinner again sometime.  Akina looks after them with an uncomprehending(but cheerful, for a change) expression, and in Iyo's arms Totomaru struggles and barks, trying to make them notice that now Akina is in Totomaru's body, and Toto is in Akina's body!  As Iyo's dream ends, Akina's nightmare begins...
There's a sign noting that Akina is in trouble in normal Ribon as well(this is right after Chapter 9), so he's in a double pinch of his own!^_^

Bangaihen 3(Ribon Fuyuyasumi Otanoshimi 2001):  Okay, I've finally done it!  It's quite short.  It's the school sports day, and of course Arisa is determined that her class will win the whole thing and get the prize(which Arisa thinks is cash).  Determined to stel the win from her is Oosugi Ken, former Underling #1011, who came back from LA into the A class(Arisa is in the C class) just to challenge her.  However, things don't go smoothly for the A class-in the 100m race, the cyclist Underling gets disqualified for not running, in the ball roll, the sumo guy gets disqualified for rolling himself, and in the scavenger hunt, the science teacher is disqualified for using his dogs to get things.  Arisa decides that they'll have to make up their points in the battle events.  For the bamboo tug of war, she calls Erika ugly to make her angry and win it, and in the horse and rider battle, she uses Naomi to protect Julie and beat everyone else.  The little dogs, led by Totomaru, win the cheerleading competition,  so the two classes are tied at 120 points.  The final event is the three-legged race, and of course the C team is Arisa with Akina.    They zoom through, taking out other teams as they go, but as they approach the finish Oosugi manages to make Arisa fall down.  She's angry because Oosugi is cheating, but he says in this race, anything goes and you can openly fight with your opponents.  He runs off toward the finish with his partner, laughing, but Arisa, bringing Akina along with her, jumps and flips, doing a  Jumping Double Dragon Kick onto Oosugi's head and taking him out of action.  It seems a cinch from now on, but suddenly Totoamru jumps onto Arisa, making her change to Arisa right in front of the finish line and making Akina fall when she stops dead.  While she's getting her bearings, Oosugi crawls past and grabs the finish line tape.
However, it seems that while A and C were battling, class F was quietly gathering points, and the result is class F as the champions, so they win the prize- to have the School Headmaster for a day...

Bangaihen 4(Ribon Original June 2001):  This is quite different from the other stories, and almost qualifies as a story in itself.  None of the characters from W Pinch are main characters here, though the main boy character is Inogami's little brother, Mikitaka.  Mikitaka, like all Inogami boys, has to dress as a girl until he's 15 because of an old family tradition to keep their males safe until puberty.  Mikitaka makes a very beautiful girl, and is always being asked out on dates, but fortunately he has a 'bodyguard', Komako, a girl the same age as him who lives in the Inogami house and protects Mikitaka.  The story starts with a typical after-school scene involving guys asking 'Miki' out and being somewhat forcefully turned(or bashed) away by Komako, applauded by Mikitaka.  A black limo pulls up and they get in, Mikitaka complaining about how stupid and perverted boys are.  Komako reminds him that he's a male just like them.  When they get home, Mikitaka says he doesn't want to do his tea ceremony, though if Komako does it as well he will.  His mother says he's hopeless, and adds that an important visitoy is coming today.  His father is also there, wearing some kind of mask and scarf to cover his head, with an author's comment that he's not very important.  His older sister Maki(17), sneers that he needs his protector along even to a tea ceremony even though he's a boy.  He starts to fight with her, and the steward, Inukai Genzou(Komako's dad), asks if he had trouble with boys today, because his father(who's into fortune-telling) predicted it.  Mikitaka says it was ok thanks to Komako.  Komako's family, who have protected the Inogamis for a long time, are usually the only ones who know that the Inogami boys ARE boys and not girls.
Komako is very happy that she has the chance to protect someone as beautiful as Mikitaka. and vows to protect him from being sullied by any impertinent males with her life.  Too late, she sees that a young man has caught hold of Mikitaka's hands, and the man just says 'beautiful...'.  Mikitaka tries to politely get him to release his hand, but the guy just apologizes, saying he doesn't know anything about the tea ceremony.  Mikitaka, ticked off, calls to Koma, who rushes in with her spear, but is stopped by Mikitaka's mom, who calmly tells her to pull back.  Komako doesn't know what to do, and Mikitaka's mom apologizes to the guy.  He says it's fine, but to make it up, he wants to go on a date with 'Miki'.  Before Mikitaka and Komako can protest, the mom has agreed, saying it's nothing^_^
Later, Mikitaka demands to know why he's supposed to go out with that 'ero-otoko', and his mom replies that he is the son of a business partner in a very important project that the Inogamis are involved in, and if they can come to an agreement, it would be good for the Inogami firm.  If they don't come to an agreement, the Inogami estate will lose its money-at least, according to Mikitaka's dad's fortune-telling.  The project that they're working on is a theme park to rival Osaka's Universal Studio and Tokyo' Disneyland, which will make Shimane into a foremost tourist spot!  In a quieter voice, Mikitaka's mom declares that no longer will people wonder where Shimane is, or say it's hard to remember, and Mikitaka tells them to first get a Shinkansen going there, adding that the author(Azuki Ryou) has to travel 8 hours to visit home :).
Mikitaka asks what happens when it's discovered he's a boy, and his mom tells him as long as they get the agreement, it doesn't matter, he just has to fool them for that long.  Komako states that she'll ensure Mikitaka's relationship and the Inogami business, protecting both the Inogami company fortune and Mikitaka's innocence!  Maki looks on, thinking how good it feels that Mikitaka has to put up with this.  She's bitter because Mikitaka and Yuuki were always more popular than her with boys, and hopes that Mikitaka will be caused some worry by the Matsudaira guy.
The next day, Mikitaka and Koma talk about Matsudaira, and Mikitaka reveals that he's 20, 6 years older than him!  Mikitaka wishes that Yuuki was there, thinking that Matsudaira would surely go for him then, and Koma agrees, commenting that Yuuki is the 'cute' type.  Komako thinks of Yuuki, who violated the Inogami tradition and cast off his female disguise before he turned 15, so was told by his father that he had to live somewhere else until the 'curse' was gone.  She remembers how, when leaving, he said there was someone he wanted to meet as a male, and asked her to take care of Mikitaka.  Koma sighs and thinks that there's less than a year before Mikitaka turns 15.  He won't need her after that, and aloud, Koma wonders how Yuuki is doing.  Annoyed, Mikitaka mentions that she and Yuuki were good friends, but reminds her that she's his protector, so she has to stay by him while he's 'female'.  Mikitaka tells Koma she can't get a boyfriend until then either, and after a surprised pause, Koma reassures him, saying she's dedicated to her role as protector.  She's gotten her 'faithful dog' ears back again.  Amused, Koma reflects that Mikitaka hasn't changed, he's still childlike in demanding what he wants, but Koma thinks that she enjoys it when he insists on things.
They're interrupted by Matsudaira, who says Miki's mom said he could take 'her' for a drive, and adds, taking Miki's hands, that watching the scenery(Shinjiko, a peninsula) by the setting sun would be wonderful, and Mikitaka responds randomly.  Koma literally cuts in, breaking the contact and declaring that she'll come too.  All through the date Koma inserts herself between Matsudaira and Mikitaka, resolving not to let him touch Mikitaka with one finger.  As they're leaning on a fence watching the sunset, Matsudaira tries to get rid of Koma, ordering her to go fetch a coat for Miki, who might be cold.  Mikitaka gets mad and hits Matsudaira's hand away.  He coldly announces that Koma is one of the Inogami household, and he won't forgive someone who orders her around like a common servant.  He and Koma leave, though Koma says she doesn't care, and left behind, Matsudaira thinks that 'Miki's' angry face is beautiful as well...
Walking away, Koma worries that Matsudaira might be mad, but Mikitaka says he doesn't care, and Koma doesn't have to stand for that crap.  Mikitaka took her hand to lead her away, and now Koma notices it.  Mikitaka only holds it tighter while he apologizes for causing her unpleasant memories like that.  He asks if she can hold on a little longer, and then when he returns to being a boy, he'll...
He's cut off by his mom, who whacks him upside the head with a fan, asking what he'll do if Matsudaira is mad over this.  She decides that to fix it, the family will do its utmost to produce a 'love-love' date for Mikitaka and Matsudaira, while, Koma is oblivious, still thinking how much bigger Mikitaka's hand is now.  She wonders what's wrong with her...
For the date, Mikitaka and Matsudaira are going on a private pleasure boat.  Maki tells Matsudaira that the roof is pulled down when passing under low bridges, and though the passengers have to crouch down as well, it gives them a chance to 'get close'.  'Miki' shows up in jeans and casual dress, and Maki is upset that he didn't wear the outfit she chose(a miniskirt and heels^_^;;)  Matsudaira says Miki is beautiful in boyish clothes too, and trying to get away, Mikitaka says he has to go to the washroom.  He takes Koma to a different boat, and tearfully tells the driver that they're being followed by suspicious people.  The driver lets them in, and Mikitaka's mom notices that they've escaped.  The whole family, along with Matsudaira, sets out in their boat chasing after Mikitaka and Koma.   They quickly catch up to them, but the smaller boat gets away when Matsudaira forgets to duck for a bridge and, hitting it, falls into the water.  Koma reminds Mikitaka that he'll be scolded after this, but Mikitaka says he doesn't mind, now they can have a date without interference.  Koma tells herself that he was joking but can't stop being nervous.  Mikitaka announces that he's decided to become a boy again, and asks Koma for her support.  He comments that he'll have to leave like Yuuki did, and Koma interrupts him, saying he can't.  Mikitaka asks why she's against it, and Koma thinks that if he returns to being a boy, he won't need her by his side anymore.  She tells Mikitaka that she doesn't want him to because her job is to protect the Inogami family, and it's only a year more anyway, so she'll protect him until then.  Mikitaka turns away, saying forget it, and Koma hears the driver warning of another bridge.  She puts her hand on Mikitaka's shoulder to push him down, but he pushes her down, and leaning over her, tells her that he doesn't want to be protected by her anymore, even if it's just for a year.  The roof is raised, and Koma, hurt, wonders why Mikitaka said that.
Back at the Inogami mansion, Matsudaira is nursing his head bump.  Maki talks to him, saying that Miki is only shy, and with backward girls like that a strong attack is best.  She continues, saying that she'll arrange for he and Mikitaka to be alone together the next day, and then it's up to him.  Matsudaira smugly agrees, while in the background the mother is relieved that he's so stupid.
W Pinch cameo!!  Mikitaka gets on the phone and calls Yuuki on his keitai, who just happens to be visiting Akina's apartment while Arisa and Iyo are too.  Mikitaka blames Yuuki for the whole mess, saying if he hadn't left, Matsudaira wouldn't have noticed him and he wouldn't have had a fight with Koma.  Mikitaka commands Yuuki to come home now, but Yuuki says no.  Then he tells Mikitaka that 'masculinitiy' isn't just about looks, and that if something is really important to him, he should act instead of just waiting-even if he can't obtain it, while he looks at Arisa (kyaa!)  Subdued, Mikitaka wonders why Yuuki never seems feminine even though he has a 'girl-face'.  He hears who he thinks is his koto teacher, but when he looks up, it's Matsudaira, who says he's not having a lesson today...
In the garden, Koma regrets that Mikitaka minded being protected by her so much, and wonders if making him wear a bra was a bit too much, or maybe, to prevent him from having to take a shower at school, when she told everyone he had his period, that was going too far...she thinks that she never knew how said it was being away from him.  Then she notices Matsudaira going into the room where Mikitaka is alone, but when she gets up to follow, Maki stops her, saying there's no need to worry, even a perverted guy like him wouldn't do much to a junior high girl.  She says that if Mikitaka is a real man, he won't mind giving up a kiss or two for the sake of the family, and Koma retorts that he will mind because he's a man.  She asks Maki to move, but Maki reminds her that the relationship was decided by their parents, and asks if she's going against the Inogami family.
Matsudaira is trying to kiss Mikitaka, saying she shouldn't be afraid because he's a gentleman, when a spear appears in the wall beside Matsudaira's head, held by Koma.  She shouts that she won't forgive anyone who makes a move on Mikitaka-sama.  Then she apologizes to Mikitake, saying she wanted to protect him even though it's a nuisance to him.  The rest of the family, hearing the noise, comes running, and when Mikitaka's mom asks what is going on, Maki shows up, dripping(Koma pushed her into the pond), and says Komako is fired.  Since she went against her master, she no longer has a place in the Inogami household.  Remembering Mikitaka's childhood demand that she stay by him always and protect him, Koma silently apologizes to him.  Maki shouts at her to get out, when Mikitaka says wait, and cuts off his hair!  He removes part of his kimono so his masculine chest is obvious even to Matsudaira, and states that if Koma goes, he goes.  This time, he says, he'll protect Koma!  He and Maki start fighting again while their mom tries to explain to Matsudaira, who just says that they're just alike.  Maki and Mikitaka pause, and Matsudaira comments that with the same hairstyle they're like twins, so if Maki grows her hair, she'll look like Mikitaka did.  He grabs her hand and says she's beautiful, and while Koma and Mikitaka can't believe how fast Matsudaira changed preferences, the mother seems very satisfied...and determined to get them together, saying that she always thought that Maki was a better match for him.  Watching as Matsudaira and his mom drag Maki away, Mikitaka wonders what all their troubles were for.
Dressed in normal boy clothes, Mikitaka says he didn't have to cut his hair, and Koma asks what he'll do for school the next day.   He responds that he'll wear a wig and go as a girl again, and asks if Koma minds.  She says no, because whether his appearance is a boy or a girl, there's only one beloved Mikitaka-sama for her!  She thinks that as long as they're involved with this family, there will surely be ups and downs, but for now they'll just hold hands and continue their date...
